Just restocked these lovely cardigan jackets! The first one called Earth and Sky, full of wise ancient trees, and wide open skies! Painted in the late 1800’s by British artist Charles Aston, the palette is a dreamy and meditative play of textures and colours from the natural world. We trimmed Aston’s magnificent tree with moths painted in the 1600’s by Dutch master Melchior d’Hondecoeter. The result is airy and ethereal, and so easy to wear. The second one is called I dream in flowers, A riotous, painterly celebration of art and the natural world, this luxe cardigan is all at once romantic, ethereal, and so so cool. Inspired by the romance of European flower markets, we created the print using a masterful oil painting from the early 1600’s by artist Jan Brueghel, and an ink drawing of bumblebees we found in a Victorian insect encyclopedia. It has the look of a treasured vintage piece that will never go out of style.
